About Sarah

My life has been a diverse and exciting journey, full of adventure, learning and self-exploration. I started this website so that I can share my stories in hopes that the experiences and knowledge I've gained can can help others along their path.

My world has changed quite a bit in the last 2 years when I decided to pack up my life and move across the country from the deep south of Georgia, where I was born & raised, to San Francisco. I had no idea what I was going to do once I got there but I knew I'd figure it out once I arrived. San Francisco is an amazingly beautiful city, full of life, incredible views, funky, awesome people, and fantastic opportunities.

I currently work as a lawyer and consultant for early stage startups, helping founders navigate legal challenges and business strategies. Prior to that, I  worked as an Corporate Innovation Consultant, helping large corporations understand emerging technologies, develop competitive strategies, discover solutions, and drive new projects by executing technology pilots with startups.

While in Atlanta, I helped build and launch TechSquare Labs (“TSL”), an incubator, seed fund, co-working and corporate innovation space in Atlanta, Georgia. TSL, a Google for Entrepreneurs hub, was created to build a thriving community and ecosystem for entrepreneurs, startups, investors and corporations to share ideas and work together to build new companies. I've also advised Georgia State Representatives on policy issues regarding un- and underbanked at consumer advocacy organization called Georgia Watch, mediated over 200 landlord/tenant cases in the Fulton County Superior Court and taught scuba diving courses in the chilly waters of New Zealand.

My diverse background of law, technology and extensive international travel allows me drawn on variety of experiences and skill sets in order to approach and solve challenges in a novel and practical way.

I’m fearless when it comes to packing my bags and heading off solo into the unknown. My passion for adventure and insatiable curiosity has led me across the globe to over 40 countries, 6 continents, and 4 oceans which has greatly influenced and shaped my worldview.  I’ve also lived abroad on several occasions to completely immerse myself in another culture, spending the most time in the Bay of Islands in New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Spain and Costa Rica.

Growing up in Savannah, GA, I fell in love with the ocean and spent most of my childhood sailing, scuba diving and attempting various water sports. After attending college in North Carolina, I booked a one way ticket to New Zealand and spent the next 2 years teaching scuba diving and backpacking throughout the South Pacific and Southeast Asia.

On my return, I attended law school. While there, I was introduced to the fascinating world of startups and technology and never looked back. I quickly became hooked by the rapid pace of technological advancement, the passion of entrepreneurs and the ability to dream big.

In my free time you can find me kiteboarding, exploring the great outdoors, traveling to new destinations, and connecting with interesting people. I strive to be a lifelong learner by picking up new skills, taking risks, listening to others and practicing mindfulness.
